Tapnudge ("we", "us", "our") provides a platform where users can create and participate in polls ("nudges"), including text, images, and other content. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account data: email, username, name if provided, profile image, bio, and preferences.
  • Content you create or share: nudges, polls, votes, tags/interests, comments or messages if enabled, reports/flags, and files you upload, such as images.
  • Support communications: messages you send to support and any information you choose to provide.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: app interactions, pages or screens viewed, feature usage, timestamps, and referral or deep-link events.
  • Device and technical data: device type, OS version, app version, language/region, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant it in the future.
  • Security data: identifiers used for fraud prevention, session tokens, and logs needed to protect accounts and the service.

Information from integrations

If you use sharing features, such as the iOS share sheet, the content you choose to share is handled by your device and the third-party platform you share to. We do not receive access to your third-party accounts unless you explicitly connect them.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate Tapnudge, including account creation, login, nudges, voting, and results.
  • Personalize content and recommendations, such as interests and trending nudges.
  • Maintain safety, integrity, and security, including spam and fraud detection, abuse prevention, and account recovery.
  • Improve features and performance through debugging, analytics, and testing.
  • Communicate with you about service notices, support replies, and policy updates.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. AI-Assisted Features and Content

Tapnudge may include features that use automated systems, including AI, to:

  • Suggest or format text, detect spam or fraud, and support moderation workflows.
  • Classify or analyze content, including images, to enforce rules and keep the platform safe.

We do not guarantee AI outputs are accurate. You are responsible for reviewing anything you post or rely on.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information:

  • With service providers that help us run the app, including hosting, storage, analytics, email delivery, and security, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • For legal reasons, including to comply with law, court orders, subpoenas, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Tapnudge, our users, or others.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale. We will take reasonable steps to protect your data.

5. Data Retention

We keep information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

  • Account and content data is retained until deleted by you or removed under our policies.
  • Logs and backups may persist for a limited period after deletion for security, integrity, and compliance.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data.

You can:

  • Update certain account settings in-app.
  • Request account deletion, which removes your profile and disassociates your account from certain records where feasible.

Some information may remain in aggregated or anonymous form, or in logs and backups for a limited time.

7. Children

Tapnudge is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your region. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

9. International Users

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. We take steps to protect data consistent with this policy.
